Detectives investigating a serious assault in Westerham are appealing for potentially important witnesses to contact them.
Five men have been arrested following the incident near the High Street, which left a man suffering a serious head injury late on Friday 20 December 2024.
It is reported the victim was punched at around 11.50pm, at a location on Fullers Hill, next to the Westerham Club. This happened after an earlier verbal altercation between two groups in Market Square.
Police and ambulance crews attended, and the victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital. He remains in a critical condition.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information which may assist the investigation to contact them.
They would particularly like to hear from a group of people who were standing next to a pedestrian crossing before the incident and then walked in the direction of the disturbance when it happened.
Two men in this group had dark clothing and white trainers, another was wearing a body warmer and a fourth man had a beige jacket. A woman with them had a long tube style skirt.
Investigators are also urging residents and businesses, as well as drivers who may have been in the area, to check for any important CCTV and dashcam footage.
If you can help, call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/215502/24. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or by using the online form on their website.
The suspects are all currently bailed pending further enquiries.
