Officers investigating a report of a serious assault in Edenbridge are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
The incident happened in Springfield Road between 9.45pm and 10.15pm on Saturday 3 December 2022.
A man in his 20s was sitting on a stationary moped when it is alleged he was pulled from the vehicle by another man, who then shot multiple ball bearings at him from a catapult.
It is understood the suspect racially abused the victim and attempted to steal his phone and wallet, before leaving empty-handed.
It is also reported that, in a separate incident at around the same time, a group of four men targeted the same victim with catapults.
He was later taken to hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Chris Welham, said: ‘This was a very violent assault and we have been completing enquiries to track down and arrest those responsible. We are now urging witnesses to either incident to call our appeal line.
‘We are also asking residents with private CCTV in the Springfield Road and Skeynes Road areas, and motorists with dashcam to check for footage that may assist the investigation.’
