Kent Police is investigating a report of a serious sexual assault on a woman in Gillingham.
The incident happened as the victim was walking in Saunders Street, near the junction with St George's Road, at 9.25pm on Monday 25 August 2025.
It is alleged a man pulled the woman into an alleyway before sexually assaulting her.
The suspect, who is reported to have been in possession of a knife, was disturbed by a dog and then fled the scene.
He is described as being black, in his 50s, more than 6ft tall, with black hair that was short at the side and curlier on top.
It is thought he was wearing dark jogging bottoms and dark blue Nike trainers.
Officers attended the area and an investigation is now underway. Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them.
Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam who were in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage that may assist.
