Detectives are investigating a report of a serious assault at a public house in Edenbridge High Street.
Between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday 16 December 2023, a man in his 30s was injured whilst in the beer garden of The Old Eden.
It is alleged the victim was assaulted following a verbal altercation and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
On Wednesday 20 December, a 20-year-old man from Sevenoaks was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail until 18 March 2024, pending further investigation
Detective Constable Tony Hatcher, of west Kent’s CID, said:
‘It is understood there were a number of people at the public house at the time of the incident and we are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, to contact us. ‘We are especially keen to speak to a man who was in the beer garden who may have important information. He is described as being white, of medium build and with short dark hair and a short beard. He was wearing a black jacket, dark blue slim-fit jeans, and white trainers.’
Anyone with information is urged to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/222089/23.
