Witness appeal following serious assaults in Gillingham

Kent Police is investigating after a man and a teenage boy suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds in Gillingham.

Patrols were called to the incidents that took place in an alleyway between Ingram Road and Woodlands Road between 10.50pm and 11pm on Monday 20 July 2026.

It is alleged the victims were walking towards Woodlands Road, when a man coming from The Vineries estate assaulted them with a bladed weapon.

The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The man has since been discharged and the teenage boy remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Investigation

The suspect, who was unknown to the victims, left the scene back in the direction he had come from. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in and in his late 20s or early 30s. He is believed to have been wearing a white T shirt, grey shorts and grey trainers.

Medway Chief Inspector Gary Woodward said:

‘Enquiries into the circumstances are underway and residents can expect to see a higher police presence in the area. ‘Our officers are completing house to house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage, and anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact us.’
