Investigators are seeking dashcam footage and witnesses after a crash left children with serious injuries.
At around 4pm on Thursday 12 February 2026, a Kent Police patrol requested a car to stop in Chestnut Street, Sittingbourne.
The grey Vauxhall Zafira failed to do so and officers followed the car through Borden to Homewood Avenue, where it collided with a tree at 4.05pm.
A 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of offences relating to driving and drug possession.
Two occupants of the car, both children, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are carrying out enquiries and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicles immediately before the collision.
They are also appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Witnesses should call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting reference BS/DH/013/26. You can also email [email protected]
