Witnesses and footage are being sought after the body of a man was found in the River Medway at Maidstone.
Kent Police was called at 8.12am on Friday 2 January 2026 to Broadway and officers attended alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics.
The body was recovered from the water and has since been identified as Terry Underhill, 55, from Maidstone. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The death is being treated as non-suspicious at this stage and a report is being prepared for the coroner, however officers are appealing for further information.
The last known sighting of Mr Underhill was at approximately 9pm on Thursday 1 January on Quarry Road in Tovil.
He was wearing a dark grey coat and navy t-shirt with light grey tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Underhill, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage in the area.
