Officers are appealing for witnesses after a sexual assault was reported to have taken place in Canterbury city centre in the early hours of Thursday 18 July 2024.
Between 1am and 3am, a woman was allegedly approached in the North Holmes Road area, near to the junction with Havelock Street, by a man who had come from the direction of Spring Lane.
It was reported that the man attempted to engage the woman in conversation before touching her under her clothing. The victim was able to leave the scene in the direction of Monastery Street and the incident was subsequently reported to police.
The man is described as around five foot ten inches tall, of normal build and mixed race. He was reported to have been wearing a black cap, dark blue jeans and a dark coloured jacket made from shiny material.
An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information that could assist officers’ enquiries is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/120202/24.
