Detectives are seeking witnesses after a report of a sexual assault in Sheerness.
Kent Police was called following the incident in an alleyway off the High Street near the junction with Bridge Road, at around 5.35pm on Wednesday 3 December 2025.
It is alleged a woman was approached by a man she did not know who sexually assaulted her.
A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday 7 December. The 48-year-old man of no fixed address was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have information that will assist their investigation. Specifically, they would like to speak to three boys who accompanied the victim to a nearby fast-food restaurant after the incident.
Detectives are also seeking a man who may have been approached by the suspect and was engaged in conversation with him while sitting on a seat at Sheerness train station at around 6.43pm that evening.
