Information is sought following a suspicious incident in Northfleet.
Between 8.30pm and 8.55pm, on Saturday 18 September 2021, a man and a woman are reported to have been involved in an altercation with an unknown girl in Vale Road, close to the junction with Waterdales.
It is believed the two suspects verbally abused and assaulted the victim, who is described as being around 16 years old and was dressed in pink clothing at the time.
The suspects then left the scene in a blue Volkswagen Polo.
The victim has not reported the incident to Kent Police but, due to concerns raised by a witness, officers were deployed to the location and stopped a vehicle matching the description provided.
The occupants of the vehicle, a 46-year-old man from Northfleet and a 20-year-old woman from Longfield, were subsequently detained in connection with the incident. They have been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until 15 October.
Investigators have reviewed available CCTV, and spoken with several witnesses, but would like to hear from anyone else who has information that can assist with enquiries.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has privately held CCTV, or dash camera footage, which can help them identify the girl.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting 46/181139/21.
