Kent Police officers have arrested a man on suspicion of supplying class A drugs after his vehicle was stopped in Margate.
In the early hours of Thursday 4 December, officers on patrol in Northdown Road identified a vehicle of interest. The car was stopped and searched, leading to the discovery of £600 in cash and a mobile phone which received multiple calls from unknown numbers whilst officers were at the scene.
A man was detained under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and upon a search in custody, a quantity of suspected class A drugs were found concealed on his person. He was arrested for possession of class A drugs, but officers had grounds to suspect he was involved in supplying it.
To further the investigation, officers attended his home address. A search of the property uncovered an estimated £10,000 in cash, along with 27 wraps of suspected class A drugs.
The man, aged 67, has been released on bail while the investigation continues.
