Alleged bike robbers arrested after Chatham chase

An arrest was made 10 minutes after a bike robbery was reported in Chatham.

Kent Police was called at around 10pm on Sunday 28 June 2026 to reports of a teenager being threatened and robbed of his bike in New Road.

Within 10 minutes, a patrol spotted two suspects who fled when the officers made their presence known.

Arrests

After chasing him for 40 seconds, a 17 year old from Chatham was apprehended and arrested. A further search uncovered a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

The second suspect, another 17 year old from Chatham, was arrested the following day. They have been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing.
