A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery was reported in Canterbury.
Kent Police received a report on Thursday 25 April that a man had approached a woman in the High Street at around 10.30pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
It was alleged that the man pulled at the woman’s coat and demanded she hand over items to him that she had recently bought, before following her into a shop.
The woman alerted shop staff to his behaviour and the man left the store.
Officers investigating the incident later arrested a 32-year-old man, who remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
A further report was received of a man behaving suspiciously in the same area earlier that evening, and officers are keen for anyone with information about either incident - which they are treating as linked - to come forward.
Witnesses are urged to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/66983/24.
