Arrest made and power tools recovered in Gravesend

An arrest has been made and power tools recovered in Gravesend following swift action by officers.

Kent Police was called to a car park in Wrotham Road at about 11.30pm on Monday 24 August 2026 following reports of men acting suspiciously and attempting to get into vehicles.

Officers attended and following a search of the area located a suspect who was promptly arrested and found to have gloves on him. Power tools, including a reciprocator saw, battery chargers, cables and a tool bag were located nearby.

The 27 year old from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, going equipped for theft, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and interfering with a motor vehicle.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
