Good work by the Rural Task Force (RTF) and local patrols has led to the arrest of a man for multiple offences.
At around 10.20am on Sunday 6 February 2022 RTF officers on patrol in the Chatham area identified a Hyundai which they believed to be displaying a false numberplate. The Hyundai was linked to an incident in Boxley on 2 February in which two men were trying to steal a trailer. When challenged by the owner it is reported the suspects deliberately drove at her forcing her to run to safety.
The vehicle was stopped in Princes Avenue and the driver detained.
A man in his thirties was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft and assault. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
