An arrest has been made following a fire in Canterbury on Monday 2 December 2024.
Kent Police patrols attended the city centre at around 8.45pm that evening after a fire was reported at a property in Guildhall Street.
Officers closed nearby roads and some residents were evacuated from adjacent properties while Kent Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze.
On Tuesday 3 December, a 15 year old boy from the local area attended Canterbury police station and was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of arson. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
Police and fire crews remain at the scene of the fire and continue to work to make the area safe.
Detectives are appealing for information regarding the incident, and would like to thank those who have already come forward and spoken to officers.
