Arrest made in connection with attempted cooking oil theft in Thanet

An arrest has been made in connection with a report of an attempted cooking oil theft in Thanet.
Kent Police received a report on Saturday 23 July 2022 that two people were starting to fill a van with cooking oil containers at a commercial premises in Sea Road, Westgate, when they were disturbed by a member of the public who confronted them, resulting in them leaving empty-handed.
During the morning of Thursday 28 July, a 21-year-old man from London was arrested by colleagues from the Met Police as part of an investigation into the report by Kent Police.
He remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
