The first attempted robbery was reported to have taken place in Cheriton High Street at 8pm on Monday 23 January 2023.
The victim was jogging down the road when a man approached him, aggressively demanding money. The victim refused and was able to leave the area without issue.
The second incident took place five minutes later in the same location where a man in his sixties was walking down the street and was approached in a similar way. Again the victim refused and the suspect left.
Officers arrested a 37-year-old man from Folkestone on Wednesday 1 February 2023 on suspicion of two counts of attempted robbery. He has since been released on bail until 26 April pending further enquiries.
