An arrest has been made after officers in Herne Bay recovered a suspected stolen moped.
During the early hours of Tuesday 21 January 2025, officers were on duty in Bullockstone Road, when they saw a moped being driven with no working rear lights and a faulty numberplate.
The bike was stopped and following an examination, police found the rider did not have a key for the moped and could not provide details for the bike’s owner.
Cannabis was also seized at the scene. Enquiries confirmed that the numberplate had been reported stolen from a different vehicle.
An 18-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, theft, driving offences and possession of drugs.
He was bailed pending ongoing enquiries into the recovered moped.
