Detectives investigating multiple burglaries in Wye near Ashford have arrested a suspect.
Between 23 September and 13 December 2025, it is reported that several locations in the village were targeted, including residential properties in Ramsfield and Upper Bridge Street.
Keys were missing and cars were allegedly stolen. Cash and personal items were also taken.
During the same period, it is suspected that an attempt was made to break into the village Co-op, where an entrance to the store was tampered with.
A further burglary was reported at a premises on Church Street, where it is alleged that cigarettes were stolen. The value of the goods taken was estimated to be around £3,500.
Officers attended and initial enquiries were completed. An investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of a 37 year old man from the local area on Tuesday 13 January 2026.
The man was taken into custody and later bailed with conditions in respect of the alleged offences, and was recalled to prison on an unrelated matter.
