Arrests made and stolen road bike recovered in Ashford

A road bike reportedly stolen from an Ashford car park has been recovered and two suspects arrested following work by neighbourhood officers.

Kent Police was made aware early on Friday 31 July 2026 that a theft was suspected to have taken place overnight in Rutherford Road, Eureka Park.

Investigation

It was reported that a Planet X Tempest bicycle was taken from the rear of a parked car and a lock was cut.

Enquiries were carried out and officers were later made aware of a bike matching the description of the stolen item, which was listed for sale online.

Bike recovered

Further enquiries were completed and on Tuesday 25 August, officers attended an address in Yeoman Gardens, where they made two arrests in relation to the incident. A bicycle was also seized.

A 20 year old man and 17 year old boy were taken into custody and have been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

The bike is being returned to the owner.
