Two suspected thieves have been arrested after a digger was reported to have been stolen in Greenhithe.
At around 8.30pm on Monday 1 July 2024 Kent Police received a report that two men had been seen loading a digger onto the back of a van in Cobham Terrace.
A patrolling officer responded to the call and having searched the local area found two men matching the same description in Denton Road, Dartford.
The pair were seen by the officer securing the digger on the side of the road.
The officer approached and spoke to the men. He also did a vehicle check on the van and found it had been reported stolen from London in March.
Both men, aged 38 and 44 years old who are from the local area, were arrested on suspicion of theft in connection to the two vehicles.
Officers released the 38-year-old man on bail until Friday 27 September, and the 44-year-old man was released on bail until Sunday 29 September.
