Suspected burglars arrested and jewellery recovered in Faversham

Two suspected burglars have been arrested and stolen jewellery recovered in Faversham.

Kent Police was called at 9.40pm on Saturday 19 September 2026 following reports that a burglary was in progress at an antique shop at The Mall. The glass panel of the door had been smashed and people were seen to be going in and out of the shop.

Officers attended, and two people were located nearby. A search of bags found several items of jewellery. Other jewellery items including rings were found underneath a nearby bench.

Arrest

A 52 year old woman from Sittingbourne and a 60 year old man from Faversham were both arrested on suspicion of burglary. They have since been bailed while enquiries continue.
