A suspected distraction burglar has been charged in connection with attempts to steal from the homes of several pensioners in Pembury.
Officers have been investigating a series of incidents on 5 June 2025 when it is reported a man entered at least three properties without permission, in and near Henwood Green Road.
It is alleged the suspect targeted women and men in their 70s and 80s, including a person with disabilities, and made his way into homes without their knowledge before offering gardening services including tree cutting.
None of the victims made any payments or agreed to any work.
David Cooper, 55, of Cinder Hill Wood, Matfield was arrested on 11 June and subsequently charged with three counts of burglary with intent to steal.
He appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on the following day and was remanded in custody.
His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on 11 July.
