Proactive patrols and a police dog have tracked down three men suspected of a burglary and the theft of a vehicle from Rochester.
At around 9am on New Years’ Day 2025, a works van was reported stolen after the keys were taken from a property in Star Hill.
An investigation was commenced and, in the early hours of Saturday 4 January, officers identified the vehicle had recently travelled along the M2 before entering the Medway Services.
Constables swiftly went to the parking area where the van was located unattended. PD Billy was deployed and followed a track from the vehicle to three men who were standing behind some rubbish bins.
The key for the van was found on the ground and the suspects were arrested.
The men, aged between 24 and 48, were later conditionally bailed while enquiries, including forensic examinations, are completed.
