Kent Police officers have seized a large number of cannabis plants following the execution of a warrant at a residential property in Herne Bay.
The operation, conducted on Friday 5 September, was initiated in response to intelligence regarding fly tipping in the local area. A warrant was obtained following collaborative efforts with Canterbury City Council, who traced illegally dumped cannabis and associated equipment to a residential address in Herne Bay.
Upon arrival, officers executed a warrant and entered a property on Canterbury Road. Once inside, they uncovered a cannabis grow operation, with more than 90 plants being cultivated. Equipment recovered from the property included lighting, ventilation systems, and irrigation materials.
The plants, which are believed to have a potential street value of around £40,000 have been removed and destroyed.
An investigation is now underway to identify and locate those responsible for the cultivation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the east Kent appeals line on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/154682/25.
Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who are located near to Canterbury Road, are also asked to check for relevant footage.
