Cash, cigarettes and a baseball bat have been seized by police in east Kent as part of work to tackle organised crime.
Officers on patrol on the A2 near Barham, Canterbury, saw a Ford Focus being driven in a suspicious manner shortly before 10.30pm on Monday 20 January 2025.
The car was stopped and searched and officers seized around £5,000 in cash, 10,000 cigarettes and a baseball bat.
The driver was unable to explain how he came by the items and he was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
A subsequent search of a property in the Canterbury area led to a further £12,000 cash and 200 pouches of tobacco being seized.
The 21 year old man who was arrested has been bailed while enquiries to establish the full circumstances continue.
