Investigating officers have charged four men in connection with a number of commercial burglaries.
The crimes are reported to have happened between 1 December 2021 and 4 January 2022 where six businesses in Gillingham, Sussex and Gravesend were targeted.
During the incidents four of the businesses were broken into and cash, cigarettes and alcohol were reported to have been stolen. Two further businesses were targeted but the suspects were unable to get inside.
Following several enquiries officers arrested three men on Wednesday 5 January and a fourth man the following day.
The four men charged in connection with the incidents are:
• Hawbash Hassan, 27, of Corporation Road, Chatham, who has been charged with four counts of burglary and two charges of attempted burglary.
• Sami Kamali, 21 of Kent Road, Gravesend, who has been charged with burglary.
• Ahamed Ghafori, 21, of Milton Road, Gravesend, who has been charged with two counts of burglary and one attempted burglary.
• Serwer Khalid, 18, of Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, who has been charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary.
The four men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 January 2022.
Following the court appearance Mr Hassan was remanded in custody. Mr Ghafori, Mr Khalid and Mr Kamali were each bailed with conditions.
All four men are due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday 4 February.
