A Porsche reported stolen from a property in Canterbury was recovered just two hours later following a Kent Police investigation.
The luxury sports car, which had been fitted with a tracking device, was allegedly taken from an address in Kingston on the morning of Monday 8 June 2026.
The tracking device revealed that the car was in Dorset. Kent Police worked with Dorset Police to share information leading to the location of the car. Officers from Dorset Police quickly identified the vehicle and safely brought it to a stop just 2 hours after it had been reported as stolen. The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft.
James Slingsby, 47, of no fixed address, was charged the following day with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving without insurance. He appeared at Margate Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 10 June, and has been remanded into custody.
Arrangements are being made to return the vehicle to its owner in the coming days.
