A man has been charged after allegedly threatening residents in Sittingbourne.
On 20 July 2026, officers were called to Elm Grove after it was reported a man had been making threats with a weapon.
Officers attended the scene, but the suspect had left.
While enquiries were ongoing, it is alleged the man returned in a car and began driving erratically in the area.
After being detained, he is further alleged to have become aggressive and violent towards officers.
Ben Bignall, 43, of Hampshire Drive, Maidstone, has been charged with affray, assault on an emergency worker, driving offences and failing to provide specimens when requested.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 17 August 2026.
