Seven charges have been secured against a suspected burglar after businesses were targeted in Herne Bay.
Kent Police received reports of break-ins at 4 separate sites in Sea Street, Beach Street and Greenhill Road between Saturday 18 April and Saturday 30 May 2026.
Cash and electronic devices were allegedly taken from premises, which included local retailers and a takeaway food outlet, valued at more than £1400 in total.
A pharmacy and a shop were also targeted during the same period.
Officers attended the incidents and initial enquiries were completed. Following an investigation, a suspect was arrested in Bullockstone Road on Tuesday 9 June.
The following day, Lee Geldard, 51, of no fixed address, was charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary.
He was also charged in connection with a theft from Waitrose in Canterbury where it is alleged alcohol was stolen the previous week.
Mr Geldard appeared before Margate magistrates on Thursday 11 June and was remanded in custody to Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 13 July.
