A court order in place to protect Northfleet residents from antisocial behaviour has been extended, following work by officers in Gravesham.
It comes after a property in Lawrance Square was made the subject of a closure order towards the end of 2024.
Multiple reports were received from residents in the local area of criminal damage, threatening behaviour, intimidation, drugs misuse and noise at the address.
Kent Police successfully applied to magistrates for the property to be closed down and entry was prohibited to anyone other than emergency services and local council employees.
Originally granted for a three month period, the closure order was extended for a further three months on Tuesday 18 February 2025, after officers successfully re-applied to the court.
Police Sergeant Steve Cole said: ‘Antisocial behaviour significantly impacts the local community and we will do everything in our powers to put a stop to it. ‘Those residing at the Lawrance Square address were warned about their actions and the consequences. I am pleased that the closure order has been extended while Gravesham Borough Council takes full possession of the premises. This will offer further reassurance to residents in the area and is a warning to those who would choose to pursue an antisocial lifestyle that their behaviour will not be tolerated.'
