A house at the centre of antisocial behaviour in Sittingbourne has been closed down through work by Kent Police.
On Monday 5 October 2026 Medway Magistrates’ Court granted the 3 months closure order of the property in Newbridge Avenue.
Under Section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, the order prevents anyone other than the landlord visiting the property during that period, or else risk a custodial sentence or an unlimited fine.
Officers had been working with the local housing provider for a number of months following reports of drug dealing, racially aggravated offences and antisocial behaviour.
Inspector Julia Bassindale said: ‘Through effective information sharing, joint problem solving, and a shared commitment to improving the local area, both organisations worked together to address the concerns raised by residents and bring about meaningful change.
‘I am pleased that this order will give respite to local residents and enable us to work further to prevent any future crime and disorder at the property.’
