A suspected burglar has been arrested and copper piping promptly recovered following swift work by officers in Capel le Ferne, Folkestone.
Kent Police was called to the incident just before 3.30pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026. It was reported that a man was seen behaving suspiciously near premises in the Capel Street area.
Officers attended and a man was detained shortly afterwards. Searches led to a number of tools being seized, including a hammer and an angle grinder.
Further searches resulted in the recovery of a quantity of copper piping.
The suspect, a 36 year old from Strood, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken into custody, where he remains pending further enquiries.
