A suspected drug dealer has been arrested after he came to the attention of officers while his motorcycle was parked on a Medway pavement.
The incident happened in Gillingham Gate Road, Gillingham, at around 1.30am on Saturday 9 November 2024.
A patrol stopped to check on the motorcyclist’s welfare and he immediately rode off. Following a short pursuit the suspect is reported to have ridden along a pathway into Purser Way, where he was involved in a collision with a bollard and a police vehicle.
He was detained on suspicion of drug dealing, driving whilst unfit through drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop for an officer.
The constables also recovered £515 in cash plus a quantity of cannabis and suspected cocaine deals.
The 20-year-old man from Strood was later bailed while enquiries into the circumstances are completed.
