Cranbrook catapult arrest

A suspect has been arrested following an investigation into an assault on a pensioner in Cranbrook.
At around 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 June 2026, Kent Police was called to a report of an incident involving five young people where a catapult was fired towards a man in his 70s on Waterloo Road.
The victim suffered multiple injuries including a serious one to his wrist and went to hospital for treatment after he had spoken to attending officers.
The suspects ran off towards The Hill area, known locally as The Crane and an investigation was started.
Arrest
On Sunday 19 July, a 16 year old boy was arrested in connection with the assault. He has been bailed while enquiries are completed.
