A driver who failed to stop when officers requested him to do so has been arrested.
In the early hours of Friday 20 January 2023 patrolling officers saw a motorist driving through two red lights in Dock Road, Chatham.
They signalled for the driver to pull over, however he refused to do so and instead led officers on a pursuit through Maidstone, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
The car was safely stopped after police successfully used a stinger device to stop the vehicle in Lamberhurst High Street.
Officers arrested the driver, a 30-year-old man from east Sussex, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop when directed to do so, driving while under the influence of drink or drugs and driving without a licence.
A passenger inside the car was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The driver has since been released on bail until Tuesday 18 April while further enquiries are carried out. The passenger will not face any further action.
