Driver charged following serious collision in Ashford

A suspect has been charged following a serious collision in Ashford.

At around 2.30pm on Wednesday 15 July 2026, officers were on patrol on the A2070 when they required the driver of a blue Ford Tourneo to come to a halt.

The vehicle did not stop and continued to the Park Farm Roundabout where the pursuit was ended in the interests of public safety.

A short time later the Tourneo was involved in a collision with a white Honda Civic and a black Land Rover Freelander on Bad Munstereifel Road.

Emergency services attended the scene and three people were taken to hospital after serious injuries were reported. A fourth person attended hospital as a precaution.

A man and a woman were later arrested in connection with the incident.

Charged

On 18 July, Jack Strover of Guernsey Road, Ashford was charged with causing serious injury by driving dangerously, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to stop after a collision where personal injury was caused.

Mr Strover, 39, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday 20 July and is due to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on 17 August. The woman who had been arrested was released without charge

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to urge witnesses to contact them. Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV footage are also asked to check for relevant footage.
