Drug dealer caught attempting to flush phone down toilet

A cocaine dealer from Tunbridge Wells was arrested after officers found him attempting to destroy a mobile phone by flushing it down the toilet.

A block of cocaine was later discovered inside his backpack.

Kent Police officers attended an address in Scotts Way on 2 October 2025 as part of ongoing enquiries into drug supply in the area.

After forcing entry to a locked room inside the property, officers found Sabinson Selimaj in an ensuite bathroom attempting to flush a broken mobile phone down the toilet in an effort to conceal evidence.

After retrieving the phone, a search of Selimaj’s backpack uncovered a block of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a counterfeit driving licence.

Detectives carrying out a search of the room also seized approximately £20,000 in cash.

Selimaj was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug related offences.

The 28 year old was later charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.

Selimaj pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 30 March 2026.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Bartolo said:

‘This arrest came about as a result of officers carrying out thorough enquiries in the area and acting decisively when suspicious behaviour was identified. ‘Selimaj failed to conceal his involvement in drug dealing; the evidence recovered left no doubt about his criminal activity. ‘We will continue to target those who supply drugs in Kent and disrupt the harm they cause to local communities.’
