An axe and a knuckle duster have been seized along with more than two kilograms of suspected class A drugs following the latest enforcement action by patrols in Medway.
During the afternoon of Friday 7 July 2023, officers from the Proactive Targeting Team were in plain clothes when they saw a suspicious vehicle which had stopped in a car park, off Capstone Road, Chatham.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, was arrested and the vehicle was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Around 15 street deals of cocaine were recovered as well as cash.
Fast-track enquires then led to the search of a residential address in nearby Mills Terrace, where officers recovered large quantities of powdered substances and arrested a second suspect, a 47-year-old woman. They also removed several weapons which included the axe and knuckle duster, as well as a sword and a lock knife.
Both suspects were taken into custody and have since been released on bail.
