Drugs have been recovered and a suspected dealer charged following an investigation into the supply of class A drugs in Medway and East Sussex.
Kent Police detectives identified phone numbers that were thought to have contacted known drug users in the Medway Towns – as well as others in Hastings - between November 2024 and January 2025.
Officers were able to link the phone numbers to an area of St Leonards-on-Sea and attended an address in the town on Thursday 23 January 2025, where a man was arrested. It was reported that a police officer was assaulted during the man’s arrest.
A search led to multiple wraps being seized, which were believed to contain crack cocaine. Two mobile phones were also recovered.
On Friday 24 January, Leesean Francis, of Moorland Road in Brixton, London, was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and assault on an emergency worker.
Mr Francis, 25, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 January. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 21 February.
