Faversham burglary suspect swiftly arrested by officers

Swift work by officers in Faversham has led to an arrest being made following a report of a burglary.

Kent Police was called on 26 August 2026 to report that a burglary had taken place at a farm building in Faversham. The suspect had attempted to gain entry to the building by cutting a wire fence but nothing was taken. Officers from the Rural Task Force were on patrol in the local area and identified a vehicle that may have been involved.

Officers stopped the vehicle in Springhead Road later that afternoon, and following a search found bolt cutters, gloves, a crowbar and a sledgehammer.

The driver, a 29 year old man from London was arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for burglary, possession of a blade in a public place and driving without insurance or a license.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
