A newly licensed police dog has helped to locate five suspects and recover six weapons in Dartford.
Just after 1am on Monday 22 May 2023, officers spotted a car allegedly travelling at high speed on the A2 near Cobham.
It is reported the driver failed to stop when required before coming to a halt in Wilmington Place. The occupants then left the vehicle on foot.
Attending patrols, assisted by Police Dog Boris, detained five men on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
A search also led to the recovery of two machetes, two crowbars, a knife, and an axe.
Favour Edosomwan, aged 20, was later charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed weapon, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
Mr Edosomwan, of St Patrick’s Gardens, Gravesend, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 23 May where he pleaded not guilty to all charges. He has been remanded in custody to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday 20 June.
Four other men were bailed pending further investigation.
