Four arrested following reported motorbike thefts in Maidstone

Four teenagers have been arrested and suspected stolen mopeds recovered following allegations of vehicle theft in Maidstone.

Kent Police was called at 12.55am on Wednesday 23 September 2026 to a report of a group of teenagers wheeling 2 mopeds away from Fremlin Walk car park.

It is alleged they left in the direction of the A229 Fairmeadow.

Arrested

Officers attended the scene and, following a short pursuit on foot, arrested a 17 year old boy from Sheerness, and two 16 year old boys from Rochester and Maidstone, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

A 15 year old boy from Rochester was also later arrested in connection to the incident.

Subsequent enquiries led to the recovery of the mopeds, as well as a suspected stolen e-bike.

The suspects have since been bailed, pending further enquiries.
