A vehicle pursuit into London has led to charges for four men suspected of a Medway robbery.
Kent Police was called to a report that intruders were trying to force their way into a house in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, at around 9pm on Thursday 2 January 2025.
Patrols attended the scene where two occupants at the premises had suffered head injuries. They were treated by paramedics before being taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
Prompt enquiries into the incident led to a patrol requesting a Ford Focus to stop as it travelled along the A20 towards Lewisham.
It is alleged the vehicle continued towards London until it struck a barrier and the occupants left on foot.
Four suspects were later arrested and taken into custody with the assistance of the police helicopter and Metropolitan Police patrols.
Mustafa Rahim, 28, of Dashwood Estate, Sydenham; Tajsharn Cummings, 25, of no fixed address; John Smith, 24, of Pin Mill, Basildon, Essex, and Deniqko Benton, 19, of Oakfield Road, East Ham, were later charged with robbery.
Mr Rahim was also charged with dangerous driving and Mr Benton with possession of cannabis.
All four men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 4 January. They were remanded to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on 3 February.
