Gravesend drug dealer jailed

A drug dealer who tried to conceal his identity after being stopped by officers on patrol in Gravesend has been jailed.

Vilson Rexhep was seen acting suspiciously on Tuesday 9 June 2026 in Parrock Street, walking the same route, repeatedly looking over his shoulder towards officers and attempting to evade them.

He was then seen in Brandon Street where he met another man, appearing to be unfamiliar with each other and continuing to check their surroundings.

Officers stopped the men based on their behaviour, suspecting a drug deal was taking place.

Rexhep initially provided officers with a false name and fake driving licence. Further checks established his true identity.

Searched

The 29 year old Albanian national was searched and found to have cocaine on him. Examination of his mobile phone found evidence that he was acting as a dealer for a drugs line known as ‘Eddie’.

A further search of Rexhep found a matchbox hidden in his underwear containing more white powder, later found to be cocaine.

He was arrested and later charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possessing identity documents with intent.

Jailed

Rexhep, from Norman Road, Tunbridge Wells, pleaded guilty to the offences at an earlier hearing. On 26 August 2026, at Maidstone Crown Court he was jailed for 3 years and 4 months.

Investigating officer Police Constable James Heaver said: ‘Rexhep was identified because officers on proactive patrol recognised behaviour that was clearly suspicious and acted swiftly to investigate.  ‘Drug dealers bring misery to our communities and profit from the exploitation of vulnerable people.  ‘We will continue to utilise our resources and enforcement activity to identify offenders, disrupt drug networks and bring those responsible before the courts.’
