Jail sentence for cocaine dealer stopped by police in Tonbridge

A Tonbridge cocaine dealer has been jailed following a failed attempt to hide his drugs from police in a discarded sock.

Aseed Jabarkhil threw the package out of his car window within seconds of a police car signalling for his vehicle to stop during the evening of Sunday 15 March 2026.

Despite the incident at The Ridgeway taking place in the dark, the tied-up bright white sports sock was easy to find on the grass verge. It contained five deal bags of cocaine which were seized.

The car was searched and officers recovered £245 in cash and a list of names, suspected to be drug buyers. The 36 year old was arrested shortly afterwards.

As part of the investigation, detectives also found evidence on Jabarkhil’s phone that he was supplying drugs.

Charged

Jabarkhil, of Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 28 February and 16 March.

At Maidstone Crown Court the Afghan national admitted the charge and on Tuesday 1 September he was given a custodial sentence of one year and nine months.

Detective Sergeant Rob Hemsley said:

‘Sometimes when drug dealers realise they might be stopped by police, they will try to get rid any illicit substances they have. ‘But our officers are trained to be able to react quickly, so they were instantly alert to Jabarkhil’s failed attempt to dispose of the cocaine that night and knew something was afoot. ‘Thanks to their quick actions, another drug dealer had been stopped and brought before the courts.’
