Bars and pubs across Thanet have been recognised for their work in keeping the community safe while socialising.
On Thursday 20 November Kent Police joined partners to celebrate the annual Best Bar None awards, recognising 18 licensed premises across the district for achieving accreditation under the national scheme.
Best Bar None is an initiative supported by the Home Office which helps to identify pubs, bars, clubs and other businesses that actively prevent crime and disorder. The awards highlighted how the venues play a vital role in supporting officers in keeping the night-time economy safe, and ensuring residents and visitors can enjoy themselves responsibly.
The award ceremony, hosted by Thanet District Council, celebrated the dedication of Thanet’s licensed venues in fostering a vibrant night-time economy through promoting responsible practices. The awards were presented to the venues by Chief Inspector Ian Swallow on behalf of Kent Police.
Chief Inspector Swallow said:
‘Kent Police continues to support initiatives such as Best Bar None that enhance public confidence in the night-time economy. I want to thank the venues that were commended for continuing to contribute to a responsible, community-focused hospitality sector within Thanet.’
