Man arrested on suspicion of arson in Eastchurch

Quick work by the Swale Local Policing Team saw a suspect arrested on suspicion of arson.

Kent Police was called to Lower Road, Eastchurch, at 10.23am on Wednesday 18 May 2022 following reports that a caravan was alight and that is was believed to have been started deliberately. No injuries were reported.

Officers, along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene who extinguished the fire.

Following enquires, officers identified a suspect and he was located in Teynham that afternoon.

A 20-year-old man from Teynham was arrested on suspicion of arson. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
