A suspect has been arrested in Maidstone following reports an air weapon was deliberately fired at a police car.
Officers were called shortly after 7am on Tuesday 24 September 2024, after a man had been seen in Knightrider Street, brandishing an object which resembled a handgun.
It is alleged that when an initial patrol attended, the gun was used to fire a projectile at the police vehicle.
Alexander Sangster was arrested at scene. An air weapon was seized nearby.
Mr Sangster, 41, of no fixed address, was later charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He is bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 10 October.
